Focus: Massive Scale & Marine Conservation
Executive Summary
- Programme: Mission R Marine Demigod Programme
- Location: Hong Kong
- Challenge: Transforming passive observation of marine plastic issues into active, data-driven student engagement.
- Solution: An immersive, guided learning experience powered by the SusSpace app, featuring gamified challenges and community service.
- Impact: 3,365 students from 84 schools engaged in hands-on climate action and community interaction.

The Challenge: Beyond Passive Marine Education
When implementing sustainability and environmental education, school leaders face a universal friction point: traditional outdoor field trips or ecological tours often devolve into passive, one-way lectures. The critical challenge is transforming students’ “passive awareness” of marine plastic pollution into active, data-driven, and meaningful real-world participation.
We ensure that the scourge of marine plastic in Hong Kong wasn’t just a “lesson” to be heard, but a problem to be solved through practiced sustainability. To confront the microplastic crisis head-on, Carbon Linking entered into an official strategic partnership with Ocean Park Hong Kong to launch the “Mission R: Marine Demigods Programme.
How do you engage 3,365 students from 84 different schools? We turn them into “Marine Demigods.”
We move from “seeing the problem” to “understanding the system” through participation and proof. Together, we proved that with the right EdTech empowerment, abstract ecological issues can be scaled into tangible behavioral change for thousands of students simultaneously.

The Strategy: Immersive Service
100% Digital Learning Portfolios & Role-Play: Via our proprietary SusSpace App, students “transform” into various marine species (Marine Demigods). This immersive gamification shifts the experience from a standard lesson into a fully traceable, trackable digital adventure game.
Community Pledges: Every student ended the day with a digital commitment to change their plastic consumption habits.
Knowing is not enough; action is where change begins

Students are the Marine Protectors
During the Marine Demigod journey, students didn’t just observe; they became “Marine Demigods.” Using the app, they tackled challenges that translated the problem of marine plastic into hands-on problem solving.
The atmosphere shifted when students began recording their interactions with locals. They weren’t just “visiting” a site; they were understanding the human side of environmental conservation.
The most profound moment occurs when the collective micro-actions of thousands of students become a powerful catalyst for ocean conservation
